Overview A leading global financial services company selected PTS Managed Services to deliver structured cabling consultancy and project oversight for its latest office expansion in Central Hong Kong. Project Objectives

Scope of Work

Structured Cabling Design and Coordination

Full design of the structured cabling system, including CAT6A F/UTP cabling, patch frames, and racks.
Integration with mechanical and electrical systems, architectural layouts, and space planning.
Fibre and copper connections between new and existing comms rooms to ensure seamless network performance.
Weekly coordination with stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and internal IT teams.

Tender and Contractor Management

Creation of a comprehensive RFP package for cabling contractors, including drawings and technical specifications.
Selection of five qualified structured cabling vendors for bidding.
Facilitation of bid walkthroughs, Q&A sessions, compliance reviews, and bid scoring.
Recommendation of the most suitable vendor, balancing cost, compliance, and capability.

Construction Oversight and Quality Assurance

Regular site inspections to review structured cabling installation quality and alignment with manufacturer and client standards.
Identification and rectification of non-compliance through a structured punch list and tracking process.
Review of related trade submissions (e.g. ceiling layouts, containment pathways) to ensure compatibility with IT infrastructure.

Commissioning and Handover

Final testing and verification of all network cabling for warranty compliance.
Coordination of documentation handover including full CAD as-builts and laminated port layouts for the comms room.
Support for client-side acceptance, with clear records and audit-ready outputs.
