Overview

PTS was appointed to deliver IT infrastructure consultancy for the first phase of a large-scale corporate office fit-out across six typical floors within a landmark commercial tower. This engagement formed part of a wider infrastructure programme spanning multiple levels and supporting the client’s strategic regional expansion.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants, PTS ensured the cabling infrastructure design aligned with global IT standards. Key objectives included developing a resilient and scalable backbone and exploring opportunities to consolidate IDF rooms to optimise space and efficiency.

Our Role

PTS provided full lifecycle consultancy across the design and delivery phases of the project—guiding all aspects of structured cabling design, coordination, and quality assurance through to project close.

Scope of Services

Preliminary Analysis

  • Reviewed stakeholder requirements and developed preliminary network and server BoM
  • Coordinated inputs with technology, AV, and security teams
  • Participated in early-stage design alignment workshops

Core & Shell Design

  • Established telecoms drawing standards and infrastructure installation details
  • Participated in regular consultant coordination meetings
  • Delivered basis of design documentation and QA reviews

Schematic Design

  • Defined MDF and IDF locations based on architectural plans
  • Developed backbone and horizontal cabling pathway concepts
  • Provided budget estimates and updated infrastructure BoMs
  • Coordinated network strategies with design and delivery teams

Design Development

  • Planned outlet layouts for workstations, wireless APs, CCTV, and other devices
  • Designed cable routing and calculated pathway capacity
  • Detailed equipment room layouts, including rack elevations and power coordination
  • Participated in technical workshops and weekly coordination meetings

Bidding & Construction Documentation

  • Finalised design documentation incorporating stakeholder feedback
  • Issued patching diagrams, port schedules, and installation details
  • Supported network workbook development and contractor queries
  • Assessed tender responses and recommended award based on technical merit

Construction Administration (6 Months)

  • Reviewed contractor submittals and coordinated sequencing of works
  • Managed network documentation updates and IP assignments
  • Responded to technical queries and ensured compliance with design intent

Project Closure

  • Conducted QA reviews of test reports, installation photos, and field compliance
  • Verified delivery of warranties and as-built documentation
  • Uploaded final record drawings and files to the client’s project platform
